green light bulb and green phoenix logo with battle of the buildings details

From April 15–30, 2025, seven University residence halls battled it out to see who can save the most energy and water in the ENERGY STAR® 2025 Battle of the Buildings Energy and Water Conservation Competition.

Congratulations to Burton-Judson Courts on winning in both categories! They have reduced water usage by 7.6% and energy usage by 16.4%!

Thank you to all the students who joined the competition!

We are excited that the awards plaques for the Battle of the Buildings are being designed and laser engraved by students and will be made from reclaimed Sugar Leaf Maple sourced near the current construction adjacent to Michelson Center for Physics. Awards ceremony details coming soon!
