Arbor Day Celebration: Campus Tree Planting
Main Quadrangle Circle Garden
Join the staff of the UChicago Botanic Garden to help plant a tree in the Main Quadrangle Circle Garden in honor of our commitment to Arbor Day principles and the importance of the urban canopy. Though Arbor Day occurs in April, due to Midwestern seasons, we plant a tree in October when the ground is still warm and the youngest members on campus, as well as University students, staff, faculty, and alumni can gather to backfill soil around a new tree.

UChicago C.A.R.E.S. campaign to donate Maroon Dollars and Meal Swipes
Beneficiary sign-up drive
UChicago meal plan holders can donate to Community Action Reaching Every Student to help alleviate food insecurity during school breaks when the majority of dining halls are closed and students who remain in Hyde Park may not have a personal kitchen. College students and Grad students can sign up to receive access to the open dining halls and grocery donations. UChicago Dining, in collaboration with Chartwell’s Higher Education and with the gracious support of our students on meal plans, offers sustenance to both undergraduate and graduate students who may face hunger or opt to skip meals during Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks. Learn more at their donation and sign-up instruction page.
