Engage in campus sustainability topics this April Earth Month 2024.

 

Earth Month in Student Housing

Student Sustainability Ambassadors are leading e-waste collections, plastic bag collections, clothing reuse drives, and posting energy and water conservation reminders this month. Interested students can inquire with their House leadership.

Sustainability Meet and Greet
Wed., April 3, 1-4 p.m. Regenstein Library Lobby
Chat with The Office of Sustainability about progress, ways to get involved, and research opportunities. Tea and treats! More info.

Battle of the Buildings
April 14- April 28
Students will compete in an energy and water conservation contest sponsored by UChicagoECo and The Phoenix Sustainability Initiative. See poster.

Sustainability Roundtable With Midwest Dairy
Mon., April 15, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Baker Dining Commons 

A dialogue between Midwest Dairy representatives, UChicago Dining, faculty, students, and community members interested in sustainability and environmental responsibility. More info.

Student Sustainability Symposium
Thurs., April 18, 5-7 p.m., Ida Noyes Library and Library Lounge
A coalition of student-run sustainability organizations is hosting a symposium on their research, activism, and engagement. President Paul Alivisatos will deliver keynote.

Student Earth Day of Service
Sat., April 20
The University Community Service Center (UCSC) is bringing students to various South Side neighborhoods to help with eco-focused service projects. Students should RSVP by Monday, April 15.

UChicago Dining Presents: Stop Food Waste Day

Blue Paradox Exhibit

Blue Paradox is an interactive exhibit about the pervasiveness of plastic pollution and the steps we can take to address it.
